Got ma new figurines

Hey people, it has been a long pause between the last post and today's one. I'll just start off by saying that during the F1 season I was able to see the Semi-finals and I was able to sneak into the grand stands with my dad lol. I took quite a few pictures but it'll take some time to upload em so maybe later I'll choose the best ones and also show a video of what I took.

Today I went with Wang Ho and Haris over to Chinatown to check out the anime stores found over there. We agreed to meet up at 12pm and I ended up waiting for them till 12:30pm at the MRT... Either way the shops only opened at 12:30 and even then they weren't punctual. WH and Haris had gone to these shops before during last weekend and knew what they wanted to look for. We went over to Chinatown Centre and there was indeed loads of anime stores over there which also sold Western figurines like from movies and comics. I went there in plans that I would just check with the stores for their name cards and ask 'em about preorder figurines especially the one that I'm looking forward too, which is going at a high price of $82. The 1/7 Klan Klan from Macross Frontier.

I ended up forgetting what make and brand she was made from so I couldn't verify with the other shops. However since the likely price was going to be high, I decided to spend $49 on other figurines there that was selling relatively cheaper then Klan Klan.

The Goodz

Hiya people, it's been a long time since my last update but I just wanted to do a 1 post to combine both items I had gotten with my pay. Well, I'll just start with Spore first.

So I went over to Funan IT mall to get my pre-order copy of Spore Galactic editionI had reached earlier then expected, 2 hours before the event started cos I was kiasu that I wouldn't be able to get the shirt.

The Queue

When I got there which was like at 10:45am, there were already about 50 people in front of me. Luckily I had reached before Haris's friend, Khalil, reached the scene as it was already a long queue by the time he had reached. Anyway here's some pics of the event.

Oh yeah and Haris came along in the end, at around the event start time. After Khalil and I got our copy of the game I thought we could go upstairs and try out the game there but apparently Khalil's friends from elsewhere were at the event and so I ended up accompanying Haris for awhile so as not to make his trip there not be a waste since he didn't want to buy the game which was a good thing since the game is pretty shallow. Anyway I do not want to dwell on that as I am still happy that I got the game. Here's a look at what's inside of the galactic edition.

The box slides out of the plastic cover and it has a textured feel to it. Apparently it has all the random spore elements on it.

Sliding out of the box is the game, making-of DVD and an art book.

A poster that is exclusive to the galactic edition was also included and its about the normal size of posters.

This poster was given to anyone at the event who was buying a copy of Spore. Same size as the above.

So I went over to Tampines Central and went to S-Powerhouse to purchase the new 80GB PS3 and I bought Metal Gear Solid 4 and 1 more Dualshock 3 controller altogether for about $700+

luckily my dad paid for the $68 dollar game but now I am back to square one with my bank account lol.

2 controllers but no games to use both (;_;).

No I'm not patriotic to Singapore, the flag was there a long time ago and I couldn't bother to take it away from the pic (^o^)

So there ya have it, both I had both with my pay and I'm gonna have to stop buying more expensive stuff from now on lol. Cya people.

Wall-E

So yeah on Sunday I went to watch the Wall-E movie along with XH and Amin. Amin if ya reading this thanks again for buying tickets for the whole family man and I hope ya had gotten some rest after that. 

Well its Friday and had some fun doing the game assets in isometric form. As always , I will draw a game character or something along with the furniture just for fun. Looks like Manny Calavara is the character of the day. 

Everyday I go to Demonoid I see Spore's scene release up for grabs, makes me so damn impatient for Sunday to come up. I just hope when i get the game, I can get the goodies too which could fetch a good price on the internet, oh well. I think the my next target would be either Glottis or Max the bunny well....cya for now anyways.

Comex 2008 and Spore preorder

Hey people, as the title says I went to Comex 2008 and got myself a pre-order card for Spore. So today at Comex, I went through all the levels in Suntec with my dad and uncle. We did not actually go there to buy anything, only just to look see, look see and collect some brochures to later research whether the stuff selling had any good deals or not. Seems like LCD TVs prices are going quite well and saw many people buying Samsung brand and carrying off with it. A funny thing I saw was that the dealers were putting alot of stuff along with the TVs like vouchers, cables and even trolley to get people to consider buying their goods there and then.

After we went through all the levels in typical slow inching fashion, I chanced upon a PS3 booth and tried out Drake's Fortune since apparently everybody was looking at the MGS4 game. The game movement were pretty easy to get into and within 3 mins I was already jumping off ledges and solving puzzles. I played for awhile and it really felt like a male version of Tomb Raider and I got stuck in a part of the game that required me to run across a snakey bridge which I fumbled around with the controls cos I wasn't in sync with the controller's joystick feel. Anyway, we finished our scouting at 5pm and left for home.

But before that, I went to Parkway Parade to get myself the pre-order card at Comic's Connection and check out the art of the card!

Pretty cool stuff eh? I liked the final touch of placing a spaceship in the name of the game. The card lets me get the game as soon as its released and hopefully I'll be able to retrieve all the goodies that's exclusive to the event on top of the art book, DVDs and poster of the game included in the Galactic Edition. So with the card I'll be heading over to Funan DigitaLife Mall and I'll be taking a few pictures of the release event next Sunday so that I can upload onto the blog. Spore!

Hey everyone, another busy day on Sunday but I got some time to sneak in some updates. If you do not already know, I am really excited about Spore and the release date is coming out in September 7 which is a Sunday, that's 2 weeks from now OH SNAP!

I went over to the Spore website to check out on any announcements if it was going to come as plan and I discovered something interesting. It appears to be that on the release date their having a Debut event for Spore on the day from 12 noon to 5pm but that's not the reason why its so important, what IS important to note is that their giving out a free T-shirt with some designs they had made during the development of the game with every copy of the game while stocks last. And this is the shirt I'm hoping I can get and numbered to show if I can't get the first choice.
I'm sorry for the small type font but what it says on the shirt is pretty interesting: "Composed of Matter, Anti-Matter and it doesn't Matter. Anyway so it means I'll be going church earlier and then rush down to Funan and hope I can get my shirt, what do you guys think? The other shirts are Adapt me and Far Away from Home and they look pretty cool in just their designs.

Well for Saturday I was doing some digging out on game updates and firstly to announce for you Sims fans out there, The Sims 3 is coming in February 2009 so expect more Simlish talk from your pants-wetting, whoo-hooing, social crazy Sim creatures in Early Spring next year. Lastly I did some looking around in the forums are I chanced upon this and I'll end it off like this cya.

Where's my money, dude?!?

Man.... been waiting for the money from my internship and they finally sent an email saying their processing the money by this week......i hope they not going take even longer to pay my month's pay. Anyway the Leizpeig 2008 games convention has already started and a steady flow of trailers and video interviews have been feeding me my urge for info.

I got a message from Clarence that he looking for new laptop. Seems like I'll be going down for the PC show with him too. Xiao Hui and Seri seem to be crazy for The Sims 3 which I think frankly really needs to outdo Sims 2 to be worthy enough for me to make a purchase otherwise its off to you-know-where to get it. I'll add more stuff when I get back home from work.

Same old shit

Another day at work and I still haven't received the pay yet zzz. In other news my friend over at Ang Mo Kio found a better deal for the PS3 then the one I found in Sim Lim Square :D Now the price is $650 for 2 controllers,1 High Def cable and a 40GB PS3. Sounds good to me so I'm gonna get it with him in September hopefully pushing down the price too.
